Dehorning with paste is recognized as the least invasive dehorning procedure, resulting in less stress on the calf.
First Choice Dehorning Paste comes in a ready-to-use multidose syringe. The syringe allows for measured paste application, reducing errors and increasing animal safety. Product can be applied up to 8 weeks after calving, for best results use in the first 1-7 days.
Following application, calf must remain dry and individually housed for 24 hours. Alternatively, tape or bandage wrap can be placed over the application area. Each syringe dehorns approximately 24 calves.
Directions for Use:
Clip hair over the horn button. Roughen skin using the tip of the syringe. Do not draw blood. Unscrew ring on the syringe turn. Depress plunger and spread pase over horn button. Confine calf 30 minutes to prevent paste from rubbing off. Keep area protected from rain/water for 6 hours.
Caution:
This product is caustic; wear gloves when using. This is poisonous. Keep out of reach of children. Do not get on skin or in eyes. Do not ingest. Eyes: Wash with 5 percent boric acid solution.
